Products and Services

Netpoint has from inception used Linux as the operating system to run our various Servers. These include our Mail, Web, DNS and Radius server. Our choice was based on the stability and the availability of industry standard applications within the Linux based community.

Linux has grown to a multi-billion industry over the years and is widely utilised by large corporates and governments. Some of the companies using Linux include Sony, Google, IBM, Boeing and Credit Suisse. Now more than ever it is time to embrace this Operating System in your business. The reasons are plenty but for the cautious allow me to name a few - incredibly stable, no licensing costs and extremely low support costs. Linux can save you money so don't be fooled by all the marketing nonsense of any over-priced, unstable and high maintenance offerings. Netpoint have a large installed client base of Linux Servers. These servers are installed on our customers premises.

The three basic Linux Servers offered by Netpoint include the following:

No licensing costs and support costs at a fraction of more commercially available alternatives.

Voip (Voice-over-IP) Server

Described as "disruptive technology" in the sense that the way the world is currently using telephony will be changed forever. Linux based VOIP systems allows companies to combine their existing Telco infrastructure with telephony over the Internet.

Calls will be received via their existing Telco lines and all outgoing calls via the Internet. Full redundancy is provided that should the Internet be down all calls are automatically routed via Telco lines. This system, being software, is feature rich and provides many advantages and features required by companies in this world of communication. - Voice Mail - Follow me, incoming calls can be automatically routed to alternative numbers.
